COVID contributions and initiatives
Fidelity International in India is committed to making a meaningful difference in the immediate community through participatory and need-based initiatives that best serve the interest of the under-served and deprived sections of society. As a response to the current humanitarian crisis in the country, the following measures have been implemented by through our CSR program:
CSR Fundraising: INR 1,646,800 has been raised by employees based in India via crowdfunding for the PM CARES Fund. Fidelity has matched all individual employee contributions up to INR 10,000, taking the total contribution to INR 2,522,022.
Tie up with Agrasar: Agrasar is committed to supporting migrant communities in Gurgaon. Fidelity collaborated with Agrasar to provide 10 days to 1 month of dry ration and other essential items to 1400 families in March-April 2020.
Distribution of Face Shields: Fidelity has donated 3000 Face Shields to the Gurgaon local administration for further distribution to local administration staff and other frontline workers deployed for COVID-related work.
Tie up with Jan Sahas: Fidelity has sponsored safety kits for 3,405 vulnerable families in the Delhi-NCR region and personal protective kits for 939 frontline workers operating in the area. The project is part-funded from our colleagues not only from India but across the globe.
Initiatives from partner charities: Existing partner organisations of Fidelity International in India (SETU, Lotus Petal, Vidya, iamgurgaon) have also risen to the occasion and have been extending required support to provide rations to the families in distress.
